First came the big black cat. My children picked up Tyson, or Mr T as we fondly call him from the Canine Council. Mr T was waltzing up and down the obedience rings at our local dog trial. My girls nagged and nagged me to take him home as he had been apparently dumped earlier in the week. Probably he was dumped cause he is Mr Destructo! Not many screens in the house have survived his claw, and to try to keep him as an inside cat is simply out of the question. He is very well known to most of my neighbours who he visits during the day, and has been dubbed the ‘black panther’ of the mountains by many who have met him. Our next cat was little Shelly. Quite well known in the state where we live, as the little kitten that was kicked of a railway station after being brutalized by 3 teenagers. Shelly was found by my youngest daughter who is a police officer on the railway tracks, with a broken leg and an eye that looked like it was going to be lost. Shelly recovered and of course came to live with us here in the Blue Mountains. She is a delightful little cat, who loves people and has recovered well from her shaky start. Shelly loves a drop of red wine with chips that she is happy to share with me;)!
When Shelly arrived, we decided to get her a friend as Mr T was just that bit too old to be a really good companion to Shelly. We also decided to have Shelly as an inside cat, as I couldn’t stand the though of her getting run over by a car after her beginnings in life! So off to the RSPCA we went and came home with little Isabella who is black and white. Isabella, loves Kevin my husband, and has him firmly wrapped around her little paw. She has the most beautiful tail, which she insists on waving under peoples noises, when they come to visit our home. Especially those who dont like cats!
Our dogs and cats all get on very well, although Miss Twist does insist on stalking the two girls on the odd occasion. Funny enough Mr T doesnt ever get stalked! I wonder why? LOL!!!
