Its not often that one meets an angel. Our family was lucky enough to have had that special gift from heaven, if only for a short time. Lilly was born here at Ulara and was the little sister to Ch Ulara the Luck Dragon. She was the last puppy out, and we didn't think she was alive. I picked her up and suddenly felt a surge of life go through her. I believe that she was not really meant for this world, but for some twist of fate the heavens allowed us to have the pleasure of this special little Beardies company if only for a short time. Storm (Lillys mother) developed mastitis when the litter was around 3 weeks of age. It was at that same time that Lilly the tiniest of the litter suddenly became gravely ill. We rushed her to the vets, and Lilly was given steroid and vitamin injections, and sent home with very little chance of survival. Of course little Lilly fought back again and survived.
Lilly didn't look back from there and of course we decided to keep her as there was no other puppy in our eyes in the whole wide world that was more special than our little Lilly. She was a very very busy Beardie. She could out run, out do, out bark anything any of the dogs in the whole world, and her little mind was always thinking of doing something! Our new back veranda was only up one day before Lilly decided to use it as her new tooth pick, like what else would we have put it up for!? She was an inside dog all the time, and if any silly person tried to do otherwise, believe me the whole street suffered! She heeled like no other dog before, she knew it all, and did it all! There was nothing like Lilly cuddles either, they were the best cuddles we have ever had. The only little problem Lilly seemed to have was a weak bladder. Because she was such a healthy little dog, her problem was misdiagnosed as hormonal problems due to the steroids she had had as a baby. In Lilly's last few days before she went to Rainbow Bridge she struggled to stay with us. Lilly was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure, more than likely she had been like this from 3 weeks of age, but she never showed her pain. Her happiness and spirit in her short time here has touched our hearts forever. We love you Lilly and miss you so much. It was a pleasure and honour to have known you little girl.
